How small can we go and how do we go small?

There is a lot of talk and a lot of momentum regarding tiny homes.... do they work in our culture? Can we live tiny? My hypothesis is that we can live small, but it takes a more rare individual who can comfortably live tiny.

Let's take a tour of homes on the smaller scale from homeless 'sleeping pods' to tiny homes on wheels to tiny backyard cottages to small/medium backyard cottages.

Footprint matters. Both the actual footprint of our homes and the concept of the footprint we require for our comfort in terms of goods consumed, including fuel.

There can be no doubt that using less stuff - to build and to use - is one successful green strategy.

I will take you on a tour of actual people's homes based on interactions that I have had in the real world... and also look at a couple of concepts on the design board.
